Change your sleeping position

Normally snoring is caused when the tongue and throat rub and produces sound. Drop a few lbs (or stone)

Sleeping Pills and Alcohol

All sedatives do not help snoring, however you may not be able to do anything about that. What you can do though is reduce your alcohol intake, as alcohol also acts as a sedative and we all know for even light snorers having a few drinks always makes the snoring worse.

 

Nasal Problems

If you have nasal problems or blockages then there's every chance of greater snoring issues - try taking steam before you go to bed. This will help you to reduce the nasal problems and may very well be a good aid to getting some restful sleep.

Reduce your intake of sweets or soft drinks before going to bed as these may well cause slight dehydration. Get Exercising

Exercising can help. As we get older our bodies lacks flexibility and we tend to put on (and find it harder to loose) weight. You may not engage in sufficient physical activities and our lifestyles these days are more sedentary. Stretching exercises or walking will help you to keep the body flexible. This in turn will help in regulating your breathing and may well offer some relief from snoring.

 

Quit Smoking

If you are a smoker or even if you are exposed to smoke for long time periods, then you are far more likely to suffer with snoring. Naturally snoring is all about breathing (of lack of it) and for most smokers this is where there are problems in fact.
